Retreat Update
A bit of new info on one of David's latest film projects courtesy of Screen Daily:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has taken UK rights to Retreat, a Magnet Films project set to star Thandie Newton, Jason Isaacs and David Tennant.
Carl Tibbetts will make his feature directorial debut; Magnet’s Gary Sinyor produces.
Executive producers are David Frost & Michael Rosenberg.
The film is scheduled to shoot this summer in North Wales. The plot follows a couple who go to a remote island cottage to try to rebuild their marriage. Instead a stranger arrives on their doorstep with frightening news.
Dave G Bishop, Head of Acquisitions, Northern Europe, SPHE, said, “We’re excited to be working with Magnet Films on this fantastic project. Carl Tibbets has written a thrilling script that keeps you guessing to the very end and with such great British acting talent attached, we’re confident the film will be both a critical and commercial success.”
Gary Sinyor, Managing Director, Magnet Films, added, “Retreat has the potential to be not just a crowd pleaser, but also a critical success based on the intelligent page-turner of a script and the marquee cast.”

RSC Appeal Update
The RSC have been in touch with some fabulous news!Apparently a very generous fan from the USA and her equally generous employer have given an amazing £2000 to our appeal to get a seat named after David. How wonderful is that?! The appeal is to help the RSC's Transforming Our Theatres campaign.
It takes our total raised so far to a staggering £4915! Which means we are less than £100 from our £5000 target!
If you would like to know more about the Take A Seat For David appeal to help the RSC and maybe make a donation yourself then read on:
You may donate any amount, no matter how small, even a donation of £5 would help.
How do I Donate?
Donate Online: Email appeal@rsc.org.uk and tell them you wish to make a donation for the David Tennant Seat, they will then email you back with a link to donate.
Donate By Post: Cheques can also be sent to the following address:
Development Department Royal Shakespeare Company
The Courtyard Theatre
Southern Lane
Stratford-upon-Avon
Warwickshire CV37 6BB
Again make sure that you mention the website and say that your donation is for the David Tennant Seat.
Donate On The Phone: You can call 01789 403476 and donate by credit or debit card. Again make sure you mention the site and that your donation is for the David Tennant seat.
Whatever way you choose to donate it is important that you make sure that you mention www.david-tennant.com when you make the donation to ensure that the RSC add it to the fund for David's seat.
More info on the Transforming Theatres Appeal is below:
Actor David Tennant lent his support to the Transforming our Theatres Appeal when he visited the site of the new theatre, the first time since performing Hamlet at The Courtyard Theatre last year. Following a tour of the new buildings, David took his seat in the main auditorium, which is currently under construction, to raise awareness of the Take a Seat appeal.
Over 500 seats have already been named in the auditorium, some for a favourite actor, director or to mark an anniversary, for an individual or to commemorate somebody’s life. Actors who have already had a seat named after them include David Suchet, John Thaw, Ian Richardson and Dame Peggy Ashcroft, so there’s plenty of opportunity for people to name a seat after a favourite actor. The transformation of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre is due for completion at the end of 2010 at a cost of £112.8 million. There is still £10 million left to raise and there are a number of different ways that the public can contribute, from dropping their spare change in collection buckets to sponsoring a brick online.
Caroline Jones, Director of Development, said:
‘We’ve been overwhelmed with support for the project. Over 7,000 people from 43 different countries have made donations towards the re-building of our theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon. People haven given to the appeal for lots of different reasons, often it’s because of the important role that the RSC has played in their lives and now they’re pleased to be able to give something back.
‘We still have some way to go. Raising money in the current economic climate is tough but I’m confident that, with our track record of success and the excitement surrounding this project, we will reach our target. Naming a Seat in the new auditorium is a way to contribute vital funds to the project, as well as creating a strong association with the Company and our future. David’s support for the seat appeal means a lot to us.’

Final Sacrifice For Ten
IDW Publishing have announced plans for their last Doctor Who comic book featuring David's Doctor.'Final Sacrifice' will be the final outing for Tennant's Doctor - a four-issue arc that will not tie directly into 'The End of Time'.
"We were told from the very beginning that 'The Waters Of Mars' would lead straight into the regeneration ending," said series writer Tony Lee. "So we set up the whole season arc to end directly before 'The Waters Of Mars', which worked really well as the mindset The Doctor is in during the start of that episode matches the mindset he has at the end of the series of comics."But we decided that we needed to have a solid end, something that would weaken The Doctor, that would push him towards the final song."And then, of course, we saw that between 'The Waters Of Mars' and 'The End Of Time', The Doctor went off and had a load of adventures, which meant that this wasn't right before the regeneration. But, we had tied it so nicely into 'Waters Of Mars', we decided to keep it that way."So although it's the final Tenth Doctor comic, it's not going to be a 'regeneration prequel'. But we do perform some amazing timey-wimey endings and pretty much do a similar farewell end scene."
'Final Sacrifice' will begin in July with Doctor Who #13.

Decoy Bride
Kelly MacDonald, David Tennant & Alice Eve Details of David's latest film project have been announced at the Cannes Film Festival.
He will be taking on the role of James in a new romantic comedy set in Scotand. The film will also star Kelly MacDonald and Alice Eve.
ScreenDaily report:
Decoy Bride tells the story of a superstar actress, Lara (Eve), who just wants to marry her cute British boyfriend James (Tennant), and believes the sleepy Scottish Island of Hegg is the one place the world’s press won’t find them. But when an ingenious paparazzo tracks them down, the diva must find a decoy bride and thinks local girl Katie (MacDonald) will be an ideal replacement. But when Katie meets James, sparks fly.
The film is directed by Sheree Folkson, whose credits include the Ugly Betty and Casanova. Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films and Paul Ritchie will produce the film. The script was written by Sally Phillips (UK Channel 4’s award winning Smack The Pony) and Neil Jaworski.
HanWay Films is selling the film in Cannes. “We’re delighted to have brought such exciting British talent to this wonderful film, based on such a truly funny, smart and insightful script,” Robert Bernstein said. Steve Christian, Chairman of CinemaNX added, “We are thrilled to be working with these partners to bring to UK cinema audiences a big, mainstream commercial project such as this.”
The Scotsman report:
Film agency Scottish Screen is investing £300,000 in the production, its largest possible grant for a feature film, to be shot partly in Scotland. Producer Douglas Rae said he hoped the film – with casting and production details rolled out yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival – would recapture the charm of British classics like Four Weddings and a Funeral. It was "a homage" to 1983's Local Hero, he said, which after 30 years has never been rivalled as a Scottish film comedy hit.
The film is to shoot in June, partly in Scotland and partly on the Isle of Man. Mr Rae said Scottish locations include castles in Dumfries and the coast around Inverary. "It's inspired by big Hollywood-style weddings in Scotland like Madonna's," he said. The film is directed by Sheree Folkson, whose credits include directing stints on TV series Ugly Betty and Casanova. Mr Rae and Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films, along with Paul Ritchie, are producing the film. Ecosse made its name with films from Mrs Brown to Becoming Jane. "What's significant for us is it's our first romantic comedy, having done children's films, horror, thrillers, period pieces," he said. "Sally has captured the charm of Four Weddings or Nottinghill (by screenwriter Richard Curtis] but has an original voice. She's captured that quintessentially British humour," he said. "Hegg" was inspired by Jura or Eigg, he said. Steve Christian, of UK distributors CinemaNX, said: "We are thrilled to be working with these partners to bring to UK cinema audiences a big, mainstream commercial project such as this."Carole Sheridan, head of talent and creativity at Scottish Screen, said: "Decoy Bride will shoot in Scotland, is set in Scotland and features two of our most interesting actors."It is very exciting to be involved in a project such as this and to be working with partners CinemaNX and Ecosse Films who have a great track record in bringing work to Scotland."
