Decoy Bride Update

There have been further additions to the cast of Decoy Bride.
Michael Urie, who you may know as the wonderful Marc from Ugly Betty will be reunited with helmer Sheree Folkson, who previously directed him in the show. Folkson also directed David in
Casanova.
Sally Phillips who co wrote the film with Neil Jaworski is expected to take a supporting role and Federico Castelluccio also takes a part.
Filming is due to start today and it is expected to shoot for five weeks on location in Scotland and the Isle Of Man.
David will be playing the role of James in the film.
More info on the film is here.
Meanwhile BBC News reports that 100 extras are wanted in the Isle Of Man for the film:
Islanders are wanted as extras in a film shot in the Isle of Man starring former Dr Who actor David Tennant.
More than a 100 Manx people are being sought to appear in the movie, The Decoy Bride.
Ex-Isle Film Agency is holding auditions and is looking for people who have that "remote island look".
The casting firm's Bev Lawley said: "We don't want young Dr Who fans, they need to be of the older generation."
The Decoy Bride is set on both Scottish island Hegg and the Isle of Man and tells the story of a superstar actress going to marry her British boyfriend - played by David Tennant - away from the glare of the world's media.
The romantic comedy needs local farming characters in the background, Ms Lawley said.
Casting sessions are being held at the Methodist Church in Loch Promenade, Douglas, later.

Tread The Boards

Further Updates from the Royal Shakespeare Company:

Now everyone will be able to tread the boards in the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre
As part of the work taking place on the transformation of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the original teak stage floor from the 1932 building is currently being re-laid in the new foyer spaces that form the entrances to the theatre’s new auditorium. It gives everyone visiting the new theatre the chance to ‘tread the boards’ of the original stage where many of the world’s greatest actors, including the likes of Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, Laurence Olivier, Antony Sher, Patrick Stewart and David Tennant, have performed.
Peter Wilson, RSC Project Director, said: "The whole project team have worked closely with English Heritage to ensure that the key elements of the original 1932 building were preserved, whilst introducing new, bold architectural elements, including the new Theatre Tower. Many of the Art Deco elements of the original building have been retained or sensitively restored, including the riverside and front facades, and the Art Deco interiors of the original foyer and timber paneling of the Circle Bar. Re-using the original stage floorboards is another way of keeping hold of the 'ghosts' of the original theatre, and I am sure people will really enjoy the experience of standing on the same 'stage' that thousands of actors have down the years."
The area where the floorboards are being laid covers approximately 150 sq metres, and is being completed by Swift Horsman, who are providing the project with specialist joinery services.
The Royal Shakespeare and Swan Theatres will open their doors in November of this year with a series of preview events and activities to test the spaces.

Message From David & RSC Appeal Update

We've reached our £5,000 target to have a seat named after David in the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon (!) and if that's not exciting enough David has also sent you all a lovely message...

Dear lovely, lovely people. Thank you so much for all the amazing messages you sent for my birthday. I never fail to be gobsmacked and humbled by all your loveliness. I feel very honoured to have so many kind and generous people thinking of me. It is so appreciated. And now I hear from the Royal Shakespeare Company that you wonderful, wonderful people have raised over £5,000 which will sponsor one of the top level seats in the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-On-Avon when it opens later this year. A place very dear to my heart as you all know. Both the RSC and myself thank you from the very depths of our Shakespearean souls. I could kiss you all.
I know I've been a bit quiet of late, but I'm working hard on a load of new projects so I'll be boring you all senseless with plenty of new things soon. Thank you for being part of such a great website and thank you to Sarah for all her hard work keeping it going.
You are all MARVELLOUS!
love dt xx

Lauren from the RSC has also emailed her thanks to all of you who were kind enough to donate to the appeal. Your £5,000 has ensured that one of the best seats in the house will have David's name on it. Many thanks from us all.

Fright Night

David has joined the cast of a remake of Fright Night.
A BBC News report follows:
Former Doctor Who actor David Tennant is to star in Hollywood remake Fright Night, according to a US report.
The Scotsman will play a character originally portrayed by Roddy McDowall in the 1985 movie, says industry publication The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor, who was replaced by Matt Smith as the Time Lord, will be making his first major foray into US film.
He previously appeared in the pilot of TV show Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, which was not made into a full series.
Fright Night, which is being made by Dreamworks, will also star Toni Collette as the mother of a teenager who harbours suspicions that his new neighbour - played by Colin Farrell - is a vampire.
Russian-born actor Anton Yelchin, who appeared in Star Trek and Terminator Salvation, has been cast as the boy Charley Brewster.
Tennant will play Peter Vincent, a Las Vegas magician who claims to possess expert knowledge of vampires.
The film will be directed by Craig Gillespie, whose other credits include cult hit Lars and The Real Girl.
Work on the movie is due to start next month.
You can read the original Hollywood Reporter article below:
David Tennant, best known for starring in the BBC series “Doctor Who,” and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are joining the cast of “Fright Night,” DreamWorks’ remake of the cult 1985 film.
Tennant and Mintz-Plasse join Anton Yelchin as Charlie, a teen convinced that his new neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire. Toni Collette is the teen’s disbelieving mom, who falls under the vampire’s spell.
Tennant will play Peter Vincent, a character who in the original movie was played by Roddy McDowall as the host of a late-night horror show. In the remake, he’s a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he’s less than helpful.
Mintz-Plasse is playing Evil Ed, Yelchin’s friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire’s coven.
The movie marks the first real foray into America for Tennant. He starred in the NBC pilot “Rex Is Not Your Lawyer,” but it did not get picked up. He is repped by UTA and Independent Talent Group.
UTA-repped Mintz-Plasse, meanwhile, is continuing to show that there is life after McLovin, the character he played in his acting debut in “Superbad.” He recently was onscreen as the Red Mist in “Kick-Ass.”
Michael De Luca and Alison R. Rosenzweig are producing “Fright,” which Craig Gillespie is directing. Lloyd Ivan Miller, Michael Gaeta and Josh Bratman are exec producing.
The movie will be released through Disney.
