Twenty Twelve Amongst South Bank Sky Arts Awards Nominees


Twenty Twelve, the spoof Olympics documentary narrated by David Tennant, is amongst nominees in the Comedy category at this year's South Bank Sky Arts Awards.
Melvyn Bragg is editor and will act as master of ceremonies at the event, which hands out accolades to visual art, theatre, opera, dance, comedy, classical music, pop, TV drama, literature and film.
Speaking as the nominees were announced he said: "Arriving at this shortlist 
was a tough job for our judges. We are proud of this world-class list of nominees which recognise and honour the best talent at work in the UK today."
Sky Arts channel director James Hunt added: "What a tremendous shortlist for this, the third year of The South Bank Sky Arts Awards, which continue to grow from strength to strength. We are incredibly proud of this opportunity to live the motto of our channel which is to celebrate the best of the arts."

Twenty Twelve will compete against Alan Partridge - Welcome To The Places Of My Life and Hunderby for the award.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 12th March at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The ceremony will be shown on Sky Arts later that week.
