Paisley Postmark To Launch David Tennant's First Class Stamp

All stamped mail sent from David Tennant's home town of Paisley over the next seven days will feature a specially designed postmark to celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who. The postmarks have been created in conjunction with the launch yesterday of the Royal Mail's commemorative Doctor Who 50th Anniversary stamps which feature stamps for each incarnation of the Doctor. The special postmarks, available until next Tuesday, will apply for each Doctor, so mail posted in Northampton, for instance, will feature a Matt Smith postmark while that from Dunoon in Scotland will feature Sylvester McCoy. David Tennant was born in Bathgate, but was brought up in Paisley.

The Royal Mail stamp set was launched at Paisley Abbey yesterday by David's father, the Very Reverend Sandy McDonald with a little help from a Dalek. He said, “I am delighted that David is appearing on the Doctor Who stamps, which celebrate the 50th anniversary of the television series. I am proud of what he achieved as The Doctor and it’s fitting that we are launching the stamps in his home town.
“Now every other Paisley Buddie and the thousands of Scottish fans will be able to get the stamps at post offices throughout Scotland.”

The stamp range is now available in UK post offices nationally. You can also get them online at the Royal Mail online shop or by phone on 08457 641 641, along with a range of collectable merchandise. Overseas collectors can also order via the Royal Mail website.
