Two New Doctor Who Specials On BBC America Tonight



Viewers of BBC America will be treated to a packed schedule of episodes of Doctor Who  and Torchwood, culminating in two new specials featuring David Tennant. The schedule includes both parts of David Tennant's swansong as the Doctor The End Of Time, starting at 2pm/1c as well as all five parts of the harrowing miniseries Torchwood: Children Of Earth.





At 7pm/6c comes the first of the new specials:

Doctor Who: The Companions




As the Doctor's newest companion, Clara Oswald, steps into the TARDIS, take a look back at previous companions. Companions past and present talk about how the show has changed their lives


At 8pm/7c it's time for the third of the monthly specials exploring the various incarnations of the Doctor since his first appearance fifty years ago. This time its the turn of the Third Doctor played by Jon Pertwee. The programme will be folllowed by the classic serial Spearhead From Space and will be repeated at 11pm/10c



Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited - The Third Doctor






BBC AMERICA celebrates the third Doctor, Jon Pertwee, in a new special of Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited, followed by the classic storyline Spearhead from Space. Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, executive producer Caroline Skinner, Tenth Doctor David Tennant, Season Six guest star Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), among others, discuss how the third Doctor brought action and stunts to the series.

In the story Spearhead from Space, a swarm of meteorites fall on the sleepy English countryside, bringing with them a terrible new threat to mankind: the Nestene consciousness - a disembodied alien intelligence with an affinity for plastic. The Doctor is forced to race against time, in order to stop humanity from being replaced by a generation of terrifying plastic replicas. .
