Zoe Ball's Favourite Red Nose Day Moment: When David And Davina Kissed!

Presenter Zoe Ball has said that her favourite Red Nose Day moment was when David Tennant and Davina McCall snogged while presenting the live show back in 2009 - and wishes it could have been her instead. David charged Davina £50 towards the charity for the privilege.

ZOE BALL has admitted she was green with envy on Red Nose Day four years ago when Davina McCall snogged David Tennant. The 42-year-old will be back again as one of the presenters on the popular telethon, this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.

And while she could have chosen as her all-time favourite Red Nose Day moment a naked Billy Connolly, or footballer David Beckham and his Spice Girl wife Victoria being ridiculed by Ali G, she chose Davina’s raunchy kiss with the then Doctor Who.

Zoe laughed: “My favourite Red Nose Day moment has got to be when Davina McCall snogged David Tennant. I was so jealous!

“I think most of womankind were shouting, ‘go on Davina, do it for the girls’. I would have done the same, had I been allowed.

“Another thing I’ve loved is the challenges people have done. Everything Blue Peter’s Helen Skelton does for Comic Relief just leaves me awestruck, she’s like some kind of superwoman.”

The first Red Nose Day was held on February 5, 1988, to raise money for the Comic Relief charity, which was founded by Lenny Henry and Four Weddings and a Funeral writer Richard Curtis to help those in need in Africa and the UK.

In the past 25 years, Red Nose Day has raised more than £600million with £22million going to Scotland to fund some 1,000 projects.

Since the last Red Nose Day in 2011, more than £4.5million has been spent on 205 projects across Scotland, including Sport for Change, Young People and Alcohol and Sexually Exploited and Trafficked Young People.

Zoe also said: “The best part about presenting on the night is having a laugh, getting the public involved and celebrating the people we are there to help.
