About the episode:

Ellie Miller realises the evidence Jack handed over does not tally with her knowledge of Danny's possessions, while Olly and Karen work together on an article about the newsagent's past. However, the next morning when they read the paper, they discover the piece has been rewritten to make Jack look like a sex offender - and the police can offer little protection.
As the people of Broadchurch turn against one another Ellie and Hardy take them on a journey to re-trace Danny's steps.

A selection of your comments:
  • Sharon Michael Lance Brilliantly written episode. Glad that we got to find out the true story of Jack. His death was inevitable, sadly.
  • Matthew Wilson It just shows you how absolutely stupid and narrow minded lynch mobs are. A guy getting accused of being a pedophile and without anyone actually knowing what really happened and refuse to know what happened, all they do is try and make a innocent mans life ruined. They say they want justice but they are the true injustice of this world. A sad but realistic representation of this world
  • Vicki Cotterell Poignant, highly emotive, and superbly acted - TV at it's finest
  • Charmaine Francis Just love this show. I can usually guess the killer early on but this show just keeps me guessing. Excellent acting. Believable. Can't waiting til next week.
  • Debra Richards What a very intense episode tonight. Very sad in parts. The damage these reporters can do with their incorrect assumptions can be quite heartbreaking. So many questions still to be answered though. And what is Alec hiding. Millers son also. He knows something I'm sure. Can not wait for the next installment!!!
  • Julie Till I think its starting to open up more now, more of the characters stories are coming out and its starting to make you doubt your first predictions of who is guilty. Really enjoying it.
  • Roslyn Lindsay Brilliant episode tonight. Felt sorry for the newsagent as mob rule took over. Still think the policewoman's boy knows something.
  • Phillip T Wedge each episode is more intrigiung then the last
  • John Vince Brilliant episode and wonderful acting. Great television ! When it finishes what will we do ? Sad about Jack with the act first ask questions later scenario.
  • Claire Dyson Is a great series. Knew it would be when I cried my way through the first episode. We need to know what young Tom deleted from his computer and phone.
  • Toni Paczkowski Just got this slightly uneasy feeling that David's character may have done it *dun dun dun dun* I really really hope not but for a few moments he got me thinking is it him? is he a serial killer? then nooooo surely not?!?!? (or is that because I dont want him to be the killer) The cigs were supposed to lead us to think this susan character (who basically just smoked in the first few eps) but I think this is just to mislead us. Just loving this show so much.....can't believe I've got to wait another week!!!
  • Amanda Canup Bad newspaper reports, misunderstood pasts, tempers flare, resulting in a heartbreak. Emotions are running raw. Did Hardy and Miller have a bonding moment over the fact that Brian asked her out? Wow. Should we discuss the awkward rejection from Becca? Oh... I think not.
  • Lisa Huskisson Magnificent ! Iove every minute of it ! The cast is superb and the acting is brilliant !
Pauline Quirke makes a tremendous baddie ! I remember her from the 1970's in Pauline's Quirkes and You Must Be Joking ( with Flintlock A boy band of the time ) !!!
David and Olivia are a great double act !
I love the humour in it even though it is a very serious subject matter !
It lifts it and makes it more real !
Excellent script, wonderfully paced and gripping through out !
Shame there won't be another series !!!!
  • Bronwen Anne Locke This episode was profoundly moving because of Jack's story and the trial by newspaper approach to hos past. It makes one feel that our press in the UK can destroy a person overnight if they decide to go for the jugular. No one would consider this an unlikely storyline. Full of chagrin and depth. The characters are still building. Beth is in a corner; on the edge. One can only imagine her despair and the loneliness if that grief for everyone in the Latimer household. Gritty and raw though it is, Broadchurch is beautifully paced and stunningly shot. My heart breaks a little with the credits each week. Keep us wanting....
  • Stacy Simpson I couldn't sleep last night for thinking about theories. This series has been so well written, I will be sad when it finishes xxx
  • Gwen Avery this is a brilliant piece of television can't wait for 9 o clock Monday. now i love dt, but the others are so good round him too.  i think its his mum i think Danny was going to the lady in the caravan and his mum found out i don't think she meant it thou
  • Mary-Ellen Caswell fantastic episode as always although i felt sorry for Jack Marshall because of how all the stories in the papers lead to his death
  • Ashley Plumridge While the show is making you think it was everyone else who killed Danny, what if it was Tennant's character? Something bad happened in his last case. What if it messed with him? He could have done it, then started working just in time at the police station to "work the case". As for rude dog lady and Danny's Dad's friend... they could have something totally unrelated going on, that is still bad and don't want the cops to know about. Saying all that... I hope it's not David's character, lol.
  • Iona Anderson Need more of broadchurch. I'm absolutely hooked cause its hard to guess what's going to happen
  • Daisy Megan Leather That episode was heartbreaking in so many ways, especially Jack's story, because he'd tried to get away from it all, and it all just came back to haunt him in the worst possible way, especially as he was a top suspect for the murder of Danny, when all he'd want to do was protect him as he wasn't able to for his own son. Heartbreaking and poignant and I cannot WAIT to see next weeks! And to find out what's being going on! (Also, the power of the press and their way of moulding opinions - rather sadistic really. They had no reason to print what they did, and now they've caused another death. A cruel death, that could have been avoided.)
  • Ali Stevenson Definately got is spot on showing how the world is highly influenced by the media and people believe the storys they read in the papers at the expense of innocent people who's only answer is to take their own life! Great episode!
  • Karla Skingsley RIP Jack. It may not have been right what he did, but the twisting of it by the press to make it sound connected to boys and Danny is unforgivable. I'm still thinking the vicar, but the daughter was desperate to dish dirt on Jack. And 'Susan'/'Alison' is interesting. Roll on next week. This is the best drama I've seen in a very long time. Don't want it to end!
  • Jenny Watson It was fantastic. I change my mind every week who did it. Lots of twists and turns. And sadness x
  • Nicola Lee I didn't like Susan from the beginning, she walked into Danny's Dad at the start of the first episode in the market. She is def bad in some way. But I have a feeling this is going to have a real twist in the end. This is the best thing on tv at the moment. Really sad about Jack....
  • Jacqui Slade Tennant always quality. Olivia Colman is marvellous in comedy and drama. Great casting in a compelling and thought-provoking series.
  • Valerie Gurney Brilliant as always. I am really sad about Jack , just goes to show how people get the wrong end of the stick and ruin peoples lives. I think it will be Susan and Marks mate with the cross bow. But then again , i expect there will be a twist to the whole thing. David great as always too.

Broadchurch continues on Monday 8th April at 9pm on ITV

      1. Fabulous series so far - keeping me on the edge of my seat! I was pretty sure Jack was not the murderer and it was very sad to see him on the beach at the end. I still think the vicar 'dunnit' but it could be almost anyone at this point! Another agonising wait for next week's episode..........!!
