Part Two Of Spies Of Warsaw Airs Tonight On BBC America



The second episode of thrilling pre-war spy story Spies Of Warsaw comes to Dramaville on BBC America later tonight.


David Tennant and Janet Montgomery star in the two part miniseries adapted from the novels of Alan Furst. Set in the years leading up to World War II, French and German intelligence operatives are locked in a life-and-death struggle in the espionage arena. At the French embassy, a decorated war hero of the 1914 war, Colonel Jean-Francois Mercier (Tennant), is sucked into a world of abduction, betrayal and international intrigue from the diplomatic salons to the back alleys of Warsaw. Mercier simultaneously finds himself in a passionate love affair with Anna (Montgomery), a Parisian lawyer for the League of Nations. Their complicated love affair intensifies as German tanks drive through the Black Forest.


Episode 2

Warsaw 1938; Colonel Jean Francois Mercier is a French Military Attache in Warsaw. He is also a spy on a mission, which takes him undercover to Czechoslovakia, on the trail of the elusive ‘Chaika’, a man who can lead him into the heart of the Nazi war machine.

Meanwhile back in Warsaw, Anna Skarbek, his erstwhile mistress, is devastated by news of her ex-lover and political refugee and journalist Maxim Mostov (Piotr Baumann). Heartbroken, she flees to Spain on a League of Nations mission of mercy.

As the Nazi storm clouds gather over Europe, dashing Polish Colonel Antoni Pakulski (Marcin Dorocinski) undertakes his own mission that goes to the heart of protecting the very future of Poland itself.
