Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Update

The new issue of Doctor Who Magzine (#460) says that the filming on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special is nearing completion.
The readthrough for the Special took place at the Roath Lock studios in Cardiff on the evening of Monday 1st April and filming has been taking place since then across Cardiff and London.

David Tennant is the only past Doctor who is returning to the role, the other Doctors will not be reprising their parts. Christopher Eccleston was approached, but decided not to be in the episode, though he did wish the team all the best.

Talking about the Special to US magazine Entertainment Weekly, writer Steven Moffat said:
"It's important that you don't turn it into a fanfest. We can't make this all about looking backwards. It's actually got to be the start of a new story."

The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special will air in November on BBC One.
