Hannibal Creator Still Wants David Tennant To Guest Star In The Show

Bryan Fuller, the producer and writer of gruesome NBC crime drama Hannibal has said again that he would love David Tennant to appear on the show. Asked on Twitter tonight to name some of his dream guest stars, he replied:

@BryanFuller: David Bowie and David Tennant to name a couple.

David auditioned for the role of Hannibal Lecter in the series based on characters from the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. Although the part subsequently went to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, Fuller had great things to say about David and even then expressed a desire to work with him. He said, "I love David Tennant. He would have made an amazing Hannibal, there's no doubt in my mind. David is such a fantastic actor that I would love him to come and do the show as a seriously deranged serial killer. That would be amazing."

A second season of Hannibal has just been ordered and shooting begins in late August / early September for a 2014 broadcast. There is no indication whether David is considering a part in the drama; however he is committed to Richard II for the Royal Shakespeare Company between late August 2013 and January 2014.
