Registration for the Royal Shakespeare Company schools broadcast of Richard II starring David Tennant is now open.
The RSC is collaborating with Ravensbourne
College and Janet to stream a
broadcast of Richard II into classrooms across the UK on Friday 15 November.
Registration is now open for the broadcast, which will be
hosted by Konnie Huq and includes a live, interactive Q&A session with
Director Gregory Doran and David Tennant. Students will be able to post
questions to David and Gregory which they will then respond to in the Q&A.
The event will start at 9.30am GMT and the whole event should
finish by 1.30pm GMT (this includes a 20 minute interval and lunch break).
The broadcast is free although schools will need to supply
any equipment required to access the broadcast. You can find out more about the
equipment needed on our Technical Requirements page.
Places for the broadcast are limited and to guarantee your
school can take part you must register. Please note that even if you have
already signed up for email updates about the broadcast you still need to
register your school to take part.
To complete the registration process schools will be asked
to provide contact details for a teacher at the school, the number of devices
being used to access the broadcast, an estimated number of students who will be
watching the broadcast and their Key Stage(s).
Registration will close on 5 November, or as soon as all of
the available places have been allocated.
Please note that the broadcast is only available to watch
live. It will not be available to download and cannot be accessed at a later
date. If you are not able to watch the live broadcast with your students,
contact your local cinema to find out if they are offering schools encore
screenings.
The broadcast will be accessible to schools outside the UK but
please note that it will begin at 9.30am GMT and will not be available to
access or download at a later time.
Richard II by William Shakespeare, starring David Tennant and directed by Gregory Doran, will open at the Royal
Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on
10th October 2013 and will run until 16th November 2013. It will then transfer
to the Barbican Theatre in London
from December 9th 2013 until 25th January 2014.
