'In Gross Rebellion' - The Latest Richard II Production Blog From Illuminations Is Now Live

John Wyver of Illuminations has posted the latest in his series of blogs detailing the progress of preparations for the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of William Shakespeare's Richard II

Previews of Richard II starring David Tennant and directed by Gregory Doran, begin in Stratford-upon-Avon in just nine days. The company worked their way right through the play for the first time on Friday, and will be moving from their London rehearsal rooms to the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre next week. John, who will be seeing a run through for the first time this coming Friday, describes the Richard II set as 'complex'.

John's blog this week also says:
  • There are rehearsal photos by Kwame Lestrade now available on the RSC website
  • Composer Paul Englishby and the production’s musicians have recorded the music for a CD and digital download release
  • The animated trailer trailer for Young Shakespeare Nation featuring David Tennant has been released
