Broadchurch's Chris Chibnall: "Who says there's a murderer?"

It was arguably the most talked about TV show of 2013 as it gripped a nation with it's twists and turns and so it's no surprise that the plot details for the second series of Broadchurch are a closely guarded secret. Not only do we not know who out of the original cast will be returning, but we also don't know how the story of Broadchurch will continue following the shocking conclusion to the first series.
The question who killed Danny Latimer was on the lips of TV viewers for two months and the suspense of the reveal made it one of the most tweeted about shows of the year, so it may come as a bit of a surprise to some that the show's writer Chris Chibnall says there may not be a murder to solve in the new series. Speaking to the Radio Times about the new series, which is expected to begin filming later this year, he said:
"The one thing I can promise is we're not going to start with another dead body on the beach at the start of series two, we're going to go somewhere different, we're going to go on a different journey, I hope it's going to be surprising and interesting. That's the aim."
He also added:  "Who says there's a murderer?"
