RADIO: Listen To David Tennant In Repeated Dixon Of Dock Green Series

BBC Radio 4 Extra are repeating another of David Tennant's past projects as next Friday sees the beginning of a rerun of the radio adaptation of Dixon Of Dock Green.

Dixon Of Dock Green, the classic BBC TV series ran for around 20 years from the 1950s - 70s and starred Jack Warner in the iconic role of PC George Dixon. In 2005 the series was revived for radio, adapted by Sue Rodwell from the original scripts by Ted Willis and produced by Viv Beeby. David Calder took up the role of George Dixon with David Tennant joining up as his young sidekick Andy Crawford. Charlie Brooks of Eastenders fame played Mary, Dixon's daughter and Andy's love interest. Dixon Of Dock Green ran for two series of six episodes each on Radio 4; however, David Tennant starred in the first series only as his commitment to Doctor Who made it impossible for him to continue.

Episodes:
1. London Pride
George Dixon shows new boy Andy Crawford the ropes on the beat of Dock Green.
2. Needle In A Haystack
A baby's life is in danger when some pep pills go missing.
3. Crawford's First Pinch

4. Dixie

5.  Rock, Rattle And Roll
