AWARDS: More Nominations For Broadchurch As The RTS Shortlist Is Revealed



The Royal Television Society today unveiled the shortlist for their 2013 Programme Awards, and as expected ITV crime drama Broadchurch features several times. However, despite nominations for co-stars Olivia Colman and  Jodie Whittaker, David Tennant himself misses out on a Best Actor nod this time round. Despite previous successes for his role as DI Alec Hardy in the TV Choice and Specsavers Crime Thriller Awards, here he was edged out by Stephen Dillane (The Tunnel), Idris Elba (Luther) and Lennie James (Run).

Broadchurch  was nominated as Best Drama Serial, with series creator Chris Chibnall shortlisted for Drama Writer. Jodie and Olivia will face off in the Actor - Female category, with Olivia also receiving recognition for her role as single mother Carol in Run. The Broadchurch nominations are:

  • Marlon Smith and Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan - Run Acme Films for Channel 4



The Awards will be presented by comedian Tim Vine at a ceremony on Tuesday 18 March at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London
