Broadchurch Finale Wins Prime Time Audience Share For France 2



Broadchurch once again proved a ratings winner for French TV audiences when it won the primetime evening slot last night. The final two episodes, shown back to back on France 2 from 20.45 attracted 6.5 million viewers, an audience share of 23.8%. 

The nearest rival show was TF1 show Joséphine, ange gardien, bringing in 5.9m (22.5%)

Last night's top 5 in the time slot on French TV were:

1. Broadchurch - France 2 : 6.5 million (23.8%)
2. Joséphine, ange gardien - TF1 : 5.9 million (22.5%)
3. Top chef - M6 : 2.7 million (12.2%)
4. Pirates des Caraïbes : la malédiction du Black Pearl - TMC : 1.4 million (6.1%)
5. Tron : l'héritage - W9 : 1.1 million (6,1%)

Shine France recently confirmed that a French language version of Broadchurch is currently in development for France 2. A second series for the UK will start filming later this year, while an American version, Gracepoint, also starring David Tennant, is currently part way through production in Canada.
