More Glory For Broadchurch As The Televisual Bulldog Awards Are Announced

Broadchurch scooped more award wins yesterday as the winners of the Televisual Bulldog Awards were announced.

The series won the Drama One Off, Serial prize, beating off competition from Peaky Blinders and Utopia.
Televisual said:
David Tennant and Olivia Colman gave stand out performances in Chris Chibnall’s drama that delivered an incredible emotional punch while keeping viewers guessing until the very end.

There was another win for Ólafur Arnalds who picked up the Music award for the series score. He won the category against the second placed Christobal Tapio De Veer (Utopia) and John Lunn (Downton Abbey) who came third.
Televisual said:
Ólafur Arnalds’ soundtrack was often as big as the Broadchurch landscape but had to be as melancholic  as its tragedy and hidden secrets too.

Broadchurch was the runner up in the cinematography category, losing out to the BBC's natural history series Africa.

Televisual said:
Writer Chris Chibnall and director James Strong found the locations in Broadchurch before writing a word so the scenery was almost the first cast member. DoP Matt Gray’s cinematography made sure the stunning scenery was a star of the show.

Production company Kudos also took away a prize in the Indie category. Their 2013/14 catalogue has included Broadchurch, The Smoke, The Tunnel and Utopia.

The Televisual Bulldog Awards, now in their tenth year, are voted on by UK television production professionals. Still to come is the Best In Show prize which goes to the programme that gained the most votes of all. This will be announced at the winners’ party which will be held soon.
