In The Politician's Husband, David Tennant stars as Aiden Hoynes, a high-flying British cabinet minister who we meet on the verge of a challenge for the leadership of the party. However, Aiden's move goes awry and he finds himself isolated and ridiculed and without any political power. As Freya's position strengthens, Aiden becomes less and less certain of who he can trust as he struggles to regain his own standing.

The Politician's Husband is a three part drama written by Paul Milne and originally shown on BBC Two in April and May 2013. The cast includes Emily Watson as Freya Gardner, Ed Stoppard as Bruce Babbish and Roger Allam as Chief Whip Marcus Brock.
