AUSTRALIA: Repeat Of Broadchurch Starts On ABC Tonight



Australian viewers will have another chance to watch the multi-BAFTA winning UK drama Broadchurch when a repeat of the first series begins on ABC1 tonight. The eight part mystery starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman follows the impact on a small seaside town of the murder of a local boy. The series, which premiered on ITV in the UK in March 2013, has gone on to become a global phenomenon, thrilling TV audiences around the world and inspiring remakes in the USA (Gracepoint, also starring David Tennant) and France. It first aired in Australia in July 2013.

When the body of an 11-year-old boy is found on the picturesque beach in Broadchurch, local police officers DI Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and DS Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) are called to investigate.

The cast also includes Arthur Darvill, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, David Bradley and Pauline Quirke. Broadchurch is created by Chris Chibnall and is a Kudos and Imaginary Friends production for ITV. 

The series continues on Sunday nights on ABC1.

A second series of Broadchurch is currently in production in the UK, with many of the original cast returning to reprise their roles. It is expected to premiere on ITV early next year.
