A French translation of the official Broadchurch novel is scheduled to be published next month. The novel is written by thriller author Erin Kelly, based on the original scripts for the award winning TV series by Chris Chibnall. It includes scenes not included in the TV version and gives greater insight into the thoughts and motivations of the familiar screen characters. The French edition will be published by Delpierre Editions on Friday 17th October.

One hot July morning in the small seaside town of Broadchurch, Dorset, Beth Latimer notices the absence of her eleven year old son, Danny. As she goes looking for him, panicked, her best friend, police officer Ellie Miller, just back from vacation, is learning that the promotion she had been promised was awarded to a detective of dubious reputation, Alec Hardy .

When the lifeless body of Danny is found on the beach, Ellie has put her bitterness aside and work with Alec Hardy in what becomes a murder investigation, which is seized upon by the media, putting the small, uneventful town of Broadchurch right into the spotlight.

The secrets of the inhabitants are revealed one after another, and the members of this close knit community begin to distrust each other. How does anyone know who to believe?
