VIDEO: Gracepoint - Stephen Louis Grush On Vince: "Most People Are Capable Of Some Pretty Terrible Things"

In a newly released promo clip, Stephen Louis Grush talks about Vince Novik, his character in the new ten-part series Gracepoint, also starring David Tennant. Gracepoint is a remake of the award-winning UK drama Broadchurch which premieres on Fox TV next month. The series focuses on the impact of the murder of a local boy on a small Californian town.

Vince is a plumber who works as assistant to Mark Solano, the father of murder victim Danny.  He lives alone with his mother, who has dementia and he struggles with supporting her and with money. He is close to the Solano family and Danny's death hits him hard. But, like so many other residents of Gracepoint, he has his own darker side and his own secrets, including the nature of his relationship with mysterious newcomer Susan Wright. The character is based on Nige Carter, played in Broadchurch by Joe Sims.

"We slowly learn more and more about Vince as it goes on," Stephen says. "We learn that he does have a lot of secrets that he's been hiding. I think most people are capable of some pretty terrible things in the right situation."

New from Fox TV, Gracepoint explores the impact on a small Californian coastal town after a local boy, Danny Solano, is discovered murdered on the beach. Detectives Emmett Carver (David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn) are charged with solving the case, while around them the small community is torn apart by grief, fear and suspicion. Based on the UK series Broadchurch created by Chris Chibnall, who also acts as writer and executive producer on Gracepoint, the series will start off identically to the original but will so veer off in its own direction and will have a different ending. Other cast members include Nick Nolte, Michael Peña, Virginia Kull and Kevin Zegers.

Gracepoint premieres on Fox TV in the USA and the Global Network in Canada on Thursday 2nd October at 9pm ET, and on the Universal Channel in Australia on Friday 3rd October. UK details are yet to be confirmed.
