The Shine Group will be presenting Gracepoint and the second series of Broadchurch to international buyers at MIPCOM which begins today.
MIPCOM is the world's most anticipated entertainment content market, allowing TV execs to network and to screen and buy new content for broadcasters around the world. The event takes place from the 13th - 16th October at Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
Gracepoint is a joint production between Shine America, Kudos and Imaginary Friends for Fox USA. The series, based on the original UK series Broadchurch, created by Chris Chibnall, stars David Tennant and Anna Gunn and looks at the impact on a small Californian town of the murder of a local boy and the subsequent hunt for his killer.
The second series of Broadchurch is shrouded in secrecy, but we do know that the original cast, David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan et al will be joined by new faces including Charlotte Rampling, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Eve Myles and James D'Arcy.
Presentation at MIPCOM will increase the possibility of other territories worldwide screening the dramas.
Gracepoint is currently airing in the USA, Canada and Australia. It is believed that ITV have secured the rights to show the drama in the UK.
The second series of Broadchurch will be coming to the UK in 2015 on ITV.
