USA: BBC America Premiere Date For Broadchurch Season 2 Pushed Back To March
In a schedule change BBC America have announced that the second season of Broadchurch will now premiere on Wednesday 4th March, a whole four weeks later than the originally announced date of February 4th. The change is confirmed by BBC America Press.
The new season, which sees the return of David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Arthur Darvill and new cast additions Eve Myles and Charlotte Rampling, will premiere on ITV in the UK on Monday 5th January and on Showcase in Canada on Sunday 11th January. The plot is a closely guarded secret but is thought to pick up shortly after the close of season one, which saw the killer of local boy Danny Latimer finally in captivity and the town reeling from the shock of their identity.
Broadchurch - Season Two
The UK's gripping drama Broadchurch garnered critical acclaim, sparked widespread discussion on social media and earned a Peabody Award following its premiere in the US last year on BBC America. With an ensemble cast lead by three-time BAFTA-winning actress Olivia Colman and Emmy-winning actor David Tennant, the first season centered on a quiet seaside town following the shocking murder of a young boy and the impact it had on the tight-knit community when everyone became a suspect.
David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan and Arthur Darvill reprise their roles in the new season, and are joined by legendary actress Charlotte Rampling, Academy Award nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James D’Arcy, Eve Myles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The series is created and written by Chris Chibnall and executive produced by Chibnall and Jane Featherstone. The producer is Richard Stokes, who also produced the first season. James Strong, who directed five episodes of the first season including episode one, directed episodes one and two of the new season.
Broadchurch returns Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00pm ET on BBC AMERICA.
