The overnight ratings for last night's episode of Broadchurch showed that it was watched by 6.1 million down 1.5 million on the previous week's series opener which saw 7.6 million tune in to watch live.
However the show still easily won it's time slot beating off strong competition from BBC One's Silent Witness, Channel 5's Celebrity Big Brother and Channel 4's The Undateables. It's nearest competitor Silent Witness was seen by 5.5 million.
And in further good news the consolidated figure for the first episode, which aired last week, and includes people who watched in the seven days after transmission, currently stands at 10.9 million.
