CD RELEASE: Broadchurch The Original Soundtrack By Ólafur Arnalds Out Today

Today sees the release of a full CD album of the BAFTA winning soundtrack to the hit ITV series Broadchurch composed by Ólafur Arnalds. The album combines music from both series 1 and 2 and two original songs, So Close and So Far, both featuring vocals by Arnór Dan.

Arnalds was approached directly to score the first series by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall who quite rightly realised that the Icelandic musician's brand of sparse and ethereal soundscapes would perfectly complement both the heartwrenching narrative of the series and the beautiful UK coastal scenery in which the action took place. Critics thought so too and Arnalds was rewarded with BAFTA TV Craft and Televisual Bulldog awards for his soundtrack. Fans of the show were delighted to learn that he would be returning to repeat his magic for the second series.

You can buy the CD here.

The second series of Broadchurch continues tonight on ITV at 9pm and on TV3 in Ireland at 10pm.
