RATINGS: Broadchurch Episode 2 Adds Over 3 Million Viewers To Final Total

The consolidated ratings for the second episode of Broadchurch show that the drama put on a whopping 3 million viewers in the week following initial broadcast. The consolidated figures reflect viewers watching via catch up services such as PVRs and ITV Player.

Episode 2 of the returning drama starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman aired to 6.1 million viewers (22.4% share, including ITV+1) on Monday 12th January, down 1.5 million from the opening episode.  The consolidated figures show a climb by Broadchurch to 8.64 million / 9.43 million, adding 3.30 million viewers over the last 7 days. It retained the 9pm slot lead over Silent Witness, the long-running forensics drama which the BBC moved to a Monday night slot last week; this increased its figures by 2.64 million.

Series creator Chris Chibnall last week tweeted that the consolidated ratings for Broadchurch  Episode 1 stood at 10.9 million.

Broadchurch continues on Monday 26th January at 9pm on ITV, and at 10pm on TV3 for viewers in Ireland.
