Broadchurch Catch Up Viewings Add 3m Viewers To Episode 4 Figures

There were big gains in timeshifted viewings for the fourth episode of Broadchurch last week, with an additional 3 million viewers watching the show via catch up services. Although negative press has suggested that viewers have been deserting the series, the consolidated ratings prove that they are still there.

The episode originally aired to 5.6 million on ITV and ITV+1 on Monday 26th January, but numbers rose to 8.67m in the 7 days after initial broadcast.

The show's closest rival in the 9pm slot was BBC One's Silent Witness which went out to 5.5m and later rose to 8.17m. The BBC aired a double-episode story of their forensic mystery drama at 9pm across Monday and Tuesday nights.

Broadchurch continues with episode 6 on Monday 9th February on ITV. As the trial of Joe Miller continues to bring further anguish to the Latimer family and the residents of Broadchurch, Hardy and Miller try to unravel the mystery surrounding the Sandbrook case. But as the investigation hints at a dark fate for one of the girls, have Hardy's health problems finally caught up with him?
