UK Launch Of Gracepoint Doubles ITV Encore Slot Average



The first episode of the US remake of Broadchurch, Gracepoint, aired on Sky's exclusive channel ITV Encore last night to 33,000 viewers, an audience share of 0.2%.

Although the figures are modest compared with the original series on ITV, they represent a significant jump for the subscription channel, more than doubling the 10pm slot average of 13,000 (0.1%). ITV Encore launched as a specialist drama channel in June 2014.

Gracepoint stars David Tennant as the American equivalent of Broadchurch detective Alec Hardy. Here renamed Emmett Carver and with the action transported to the coast of California, he is paired with local cop Ellie Miller (Anna Gunn) in the hunt for the killer of a young local boy. The ten-part series first aired on FOX in the USA late last year. 

Gracepoint continues on ITV Encore on Wednesday 8th April at 10pm BST.
