W1A Narrated by David Tennant Returns To BBC Two On 23rd April

The second series of the comedy show W1A begins on BBC Two on Thursday 23rd April at 9.00pm BST with a hour long special. David Tennant narrates the spoof documentary which follows characters from the award-winning Twenty Twelve in their new post-Olympics roles.

Hugh Bonneville plays Ian Fletcher, the former head of the fictional Olympic Deliverance commission, now appointed as the BBC's Head of Values. There he is reunited with a familiar face, clueless PR guru Siobhan Sharpe of Perfect Curve, as he embarks on a new chapter in his life. There's also a new cast of supporting characters played by Jason Watkins, Sarah Parish, Nina Sosanya, Monica Dolan and Hugh Skinner.

The new four-episode series will see Ian tackle, among other issues, the BBC's charter renewal, due in 2016.

Writer John Morton not only captures corporate waffling and bureaucratic absurdity in his hilarious scripts, he once again displays his almost uncanny ability to predict real-life situations. Already David Tennant has had to re-record part of his commentary to update a running gag about Jeremy Clarkson after the recent controversy.

Of the new series, Ian Fletcher says,"I am very happy to have the cameras back. Being Head of Values is all about re-setting the dial for the BBC and perhaps about shining a new light on that dial, or at least shining the old light but with a new bulb, so none of us can be in any doubt where the dial is or can have any excuse for not being able to read what it says."

A spokesperson for the BBC added, "Until the cameras roll it won't be known exactly what crisis will be averted or indeed where Ian's desk will be."
