A new synopsis has appeared online for the new Netflix exclusive series Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones. The thirteen part adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis' Marvel Max series Alias stars Krysten Ritter as the eponymous Jones with David Tennant as the villainous Kilgrave, also known as the Purple Man, and Mike Colter as Jessica's on-off love interest Luke Cage.

Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in
tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a
hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York
City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles
demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an
unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her
a check.
A.K.A. Jessica Jones is shooting now in New York and is due to be released on Netflix in December. The series is the second of five planned miniseries produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios for Netflix. The first, Daredevil, made its debut last month and has already been recommissioned for a second season. Colter will star in his own Luke Cage series next year and this will be followed by Iron Fist and then a Defenders miniseries.
