Vote For Circle In The Scottish Charity Awards

Circle are in the running to win the title of 'Perfect Partnership' at The Scottish Charity Awards and you could help them to victory by simply casting a vote for them!

David Tennant is a patron of the charity which provides holistic, community based support to marginalised children and families in Scotland. They are highly regarded for pioneering a range of early years and family support services that promote children's healthy development and potential.

David says: "I was blessed with a safe and happy childhood. It is unacceptable to me that any child in Scotland should grow up in poverty or neglect. I am delighted and honoured to be supporting Circle in Scotland as they spread their invaluable work across the country."

The nomination is for Circle's work alongside George Heriot’s School and the Inter School Social Education Project (ISSEP).
The partnership involves 6th year pupils from George Heriot’s volunteering every week to provide one to one mentoring for a primary aged child in the Pilton community. The children benefit from the consistency and commitment of a fun, enthusiastic role model, while the mentors gain increased social awareness and responsibility.

Organised by Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the Awards celebrate the amazing work of charities, community groups and people across Scotland who dedicate themselves to making Scotland a better place to live.

Martin Sime, Chief Executive, SCVO, said:
“All the finalists have shown that they go the extra mile to help others. So much of that work goes unseen and unheard, but the Scottish Charity Awards shines a light on it so we can all say a big thank you.”

All shortlisted entries will also compete for the People’s Choice Award which will be decided by the public.
"The project couldn’t exist without the dedication of our 6th year volunteers. Please give us your vote to show appreciation for their commitment to improving outcomes for younger children." (Niamh Smith, project co-ordinator)

Circle is asking for help to make sure that their  ISSEP project,  supported by George Heriot’s School is in with a chance. Show your support by going to www.scvo.org.uk/vote to cast your vote.
