David Tennant Backing The BBC In The New Edition Of Broadcast Magazine

David Tennant is among a host of actors and performers featured as supporters of trade publication Broadcast Magazine's campaign to support the BBC as it approaches charter renewal.

Other stars who have signed the campaign pledge include actors Idris Elba, Mark Rylance and Julie Walters and comedians Andy Parsons and Jo Brand. They call for the government to maintain the TV licence fee that funds the BBC and allows it to lead the world in producing quality innovative programming.

David said in his pledge,
"We must not let familiarity allow us to forget how special it is. The politicians may have reasons why they would like to see the BBC reduced or dismantled, but the BBC is not for the politicians, it is for us. We must celebrate and protect the BBC for ourselves and for our children."
