David Tennant Longlisted In 2015 Primetime Emmy Nominations



David Tennant has made it into two categories in the longlist for the 2015 Primetime Emmy nominations which were released yesterday. He has received nods as both Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie.

The longlist is just the first part of the voting process leading up to the live presentation event on Sunday 20th September. At this stage the categories are huge with most TV networks and online providers submitting many of the lead and supporting stars from their shows. The first vote, running till June 26th, will whittle the 100+ names in each category down to half a dozen. The shortlists will then be confirmed on 16th July.

Voting in the Primetime Emmys is restricted to registered Television Academy members only

David is nominated for his performance as Alec Hardy in Broadchurch (BBC America)

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie


David is nominated for his performance as Emmett Carver in Gracepoint (FOX)
Category size: 189

David was awarded a Daytime Emmy in 2013 for his voice performance as Huyang in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
