The episode, which will be released as part of Disney Junior's Soaring Over Summer event in the USA, will be called Dread The Evil Genie and will see Jake and his friends helping out Pip the Pirate Genie and trying to stop Dread and his wicked plans to drain the good genies of all their magic power so that he can boost his own evil stengths.
The Soaring Over Summer multi-platform even will run on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in the USA from Monday 29th June till Thursday 13th August. Every weekday at 9am ET/PT on Disney Channel and 7.30pm ET/PT on Disney Junior they will premiere a brand new episode of one of five of their hit series, rotating between Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, Miles From Tomorrowland, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Henry Hugglemonster. The new episodes will also be made available online via Watch Disney Junior along with their Soaring Over Summer games arcade.
The animated series Jake And The Never Land Pirates was launched in 2011 and is based on Disney's Peter Pan franchise, itself originating in the classic novel by J.M. Barrie. Young pirate Jake with friends Izzy and Cubby and parrot Skully spend their days competing with Captain Hook and Smee for treasure. Guest stars in the past have included Adam West, Lisa Loeb, Sharon Osbourne and Teri Hatcher. New guest stars over the summer will include Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet from Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and veteran actor Malcolm McDowell.
