Marvel's Jessica Jones Loses Her Alias

Judging by the new placeholder for David Tennant's new series for Netflix, it appears that the show has just undergone a title change.

Formally referred to on Netflix and in Marvel releases as Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones the new Netflix title card now shows the thirteen part series simply as Marvel's Jessica Jones.

The adaptation of the MarvelMAX comic book series Alias, written by Brian Michael Bendis follows the fortunes of a former superhero who has hung up her cape following a personal trauma to open a detective agency in New York's Hell's Kitchen. However a dark figure from her past is set to make a reappearance and to send shock waves through her world. The show is the second of four planned Netflix exclusive series from Marvel and ABC Studios leading into a Defenders miniseries. The first, Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox, was released earlier this year to great critical acclaim and has already earned itself a second season.

In Marvel's Jessica Jones, Krysten Ritter plays Jessica, with David Tennant as the villainous Kilgrave, also known as the Purple Man. Other cast members include Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor and Mike Colter who, as Luke Cage, will soon be starting work on in his own Marvel series.

Marvel's Jessica Jones is expected on Netflix in late 2015. As with Daredevil, all thirteen episodes will be released on the same day.
