David Tennant To Take Part In Richard II Panel At The Barbican



As part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's King & Country Season, actors from the four plays will be taking part in talks during November and January at the Barbican Theatre in London. The series of talks will focus on Shakespeare's portrayals of Richard II, Henry IV and Henry V and their individual approaches to leadership. The RSC cast will be joined by actors who have portrayed the roles in other notable productions to discuss their thoughts on the characters.

David Tennant will be part of a panel to discuss Richard II from 11am-12 noon on Saturday 16th January. 

Other talks, including Alex Hassell will be on 14th November (Henry V) and 28th November (Henry IV). Further speakers have yet to be announced.

Tickets for these events cost £8.  Priority booking for RSC Supporters and Members opens on Friday 11th September. Booking is via the Barbican Box Office - check the Supporters' News mailout for details. Public booking opens on 14th September.

King And Country: Shakespeare's Great Cycle of Kings is a complete 4-play season cycle of all four productions of Shakespeare's history plays in repertoire. David Tennant reprises his award-winning performance as the king in Richard II. Antony Sher and Jasper Britton play Falstaff and King Henry respectively in Henry IV, while Alex Hassell plays Prince Hal and the lead role in Henry V. The cycle runs from 12th - 26th January at the Barbican Theatre in London with standalone performances of the plays performed from December. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.
