RadioTimes.com have announced that Georgia Tennant is to lead a brand new series of Doctor Who audio adventures for Big Finish as she reprises her iconic role as the Doctor's daughter Jenny.
Jenny was first introduced to fans in the David Tennant era of the show in the 2008 episode, The Doctor's Daughter. She was an artificially created Generation 5000 soldier cloned from the Doctor's DNA on Messaline, effectively making her his daughter. She was militaristic and driven, but she and the Doctor gradually warmed to one another, and Jenny quickly learned to take on board his morals and compassion.
When the Doctor exposed the truth on Messaline to both the human and Hath soldiers, General Cobb of the humans tried to murder him, but Jenny took the bullet instead and apparently died. Heartbroken, the Doctor, Donna Noble and Martha Jones left Jenny interred on Messaline, but she was revived by the gaseous compound released by the recently activated third-generation terraforming…
With plenty of current and former stars of Doctor Who making appearances at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con, it was inevitable that they would be asked to share their thoughts on the casting of Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor. David Tennant, Pearl Mackie, Michelle Gomez and Colin Baker all spoke to Yahoo! to express their joy at having such a skilled actor in the role.
David also talked to The Telegraph on the same topic:
David's next project is the reboot of Disney's classic animated series DuckTales, in which he voices Scrooge McDuck. The show launches on Disney XD on August 12th.
David Tennant is through to the semi final stage of the Radio Times Drama Champion poll.
He is now facing the battle to win enough votes against Versailles actor Alexander Vlahos to make it to the final.
David won Round 4 of the poll against Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy with a healthy 57.13% of the vote.
The winner of this semi final will compete in the final stage against either Poldark's Aidan Turner or Victoria's Rufus Sewell.
