VOTE: The Doctor And Rose Nominated For BFI's The Greatest Screen Couple Of All Time

The characters of the Doctor and Rose Tyer, as played by David Tennant and Billie Piper, in the BBC series Doctor Who, have been nominated in BFI's poll to find the Greatest Screen Couple Of All Time in the TV category.

The Doctor and Rose's Will they? Won't they? Do they? Don't they? relationship thrilled fans and left many heartbroken when they parted ways at Bad Wolf Bay in the series 2 finale, Doomsday without the Doctor telling Rose how he truly felt about her.

David Tennant spoke about the Doctor and Rose at a fan convention in the USA earlier this year telling fans:
"They’re very different. (Donna and Rose). They were both love stories but they were very different types of love story, weren’t they? Because one was the best mate, and one was a girlfriend, really... I know we don’t say it but she sort of was."
"What was tragic about the Donna one was that he had to remove all that joy from her, take all those wonderful experiences. I think that was the tragedy of that goodbye," he added "The tragedy of the goodbye for Rose of course was that they could never see each other again. Until they did..."

The poll is part of BFI's LOVE season, which will see romantic screenings and events take place throughout October to December online and in the cinema. Find out more about the season here.
