DAVID TENNANT REVIEW OF 2015: September - Awards And A Much Anticipated Release Date

The review of the year reaches September today with the confirmation of a release date for Marvel's Jessica Jones. Some of David's new audio projects were released and there were some awards in the pipeline. 


The release date for Marvel’s Jessica Jones was confirmed for 20th November along with the first teaser trailer. Marvel also released the first set of cast photos, including David in character as Kilgrave. 

Series star Krysten Ritter was already praising David in promotional interviews. "He is a total pro, he is a joy to be around,” she said. “He is a very kind person and…one of the best scene partners I've ever had in my whole career." 

A young David was one of the stars featured in You Saw Them Here First on ITV which looked back at some of today’s household names taking their early steps in the world of TV. 

David’s character The Fugitoid made a surprise debut appearance in the closing minutes of the Season 3 finale of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Nickelodeon in the USA. 


96 Ways To Say I Love You was screened at the Cambridge Film Festival with writer / director Daisy Aitkens in attendance. 

What We Did On Our Holiday was released in cinemas in Portugal and Taiwan


David attended the TV Choice Awards and was named Best Actor for his performance in Broadchurch.  Broadchurch won the Best Drama Series award. 
Broadchurch also won Best Mystery in the inaugural Yahooies from Yahoo! TV. 


The Royal Shakespeare Company released more details about The Shakespeare Show, the live BBC Two show to be hosted by David next year in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. 
They also announced that David would be taking part in a Richard II panel at the Barbican in January during the run of the King & Country tetralogy. 


David narrated a new jazz version of Prokofiev’s classic tale Peter And The Wolf. The production was available on CD and to stream for free on Spotify. 

David visited Classic FM to record the role of narrator in their charity mystery play Upstairs Downland Abbey. 

In the final book in the ‘Dragons’ series, Cressida Cowell included a thank you to David, the ‘one man Archipelago’ who has narrated all twelve of the novels. 

David voiced a new ad campaign for the relaunched website of Scottish newspaper The Scotsman.
