MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES - Record Breaking Viewing Figures Revealed For Series
Ratings estimates based on a sample of 15000 Netflix viewers have revealed that Marvel's Jessica Jones is likely to be one of the streaming service's most watched series this year.
Netflix tend to keep their actual viewer numbers quite close to their chest, but research by NBCUniversal derived from ratings measurements from tech firm Symphony indicate that the Marvel series was watched by 4.8 million viewers average per episode in the Adults 18-49 demographic during the ratings period September-December 2015.
Alan Wurtzel, NBCU president of research and media development, also presented ratings for Orange Is the New Black, across the same period, the show that Netflix cite as their most popular original series. The third season of the prison-based drama, which launched in June, attracted 644,000 viewers per episode in the final quarter of the year. Aziz Ansari’s Master of None won 3.9 million and Narcos was watched by 3.2 million during the same time period.
Marvel's Jessica Jones is a thirteen part adaptation of the comics series Alias written by Brian Michael Bendis. The series stars Krysten Ritter as the eponymous Jessica, a former superhero turned private detective, with David Tennant as her nemesis, the supervillain Kilgrave. The series is available to stream on Netflix worldwide.
