INTERVIEW: David Tennant Discusses Richard II On The Joe D Show Podcast



David Tennant is a guest on the latest Joe D Show podcast where he discusses bringing Richard II to New York. David is reprising his award-winning role as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's King & Country cycle of Shakespeare's history plays, now in residence at the BAM Harvey Theatre, Brooklyn until May.

As well as talking about his performance as Richard II, David discusses the influence that Shakespeare has had on his career, his memories of being electrified by seeing Mark Rylance perform Hamlet for the RSC while he was studying in Glasgow and his other roles in Broadchurch, Doctor Who, The Escape Artist and Marvel's Jessica Jones. He also looks ahead to the events that will mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, including the Shakespeare Live! TV show that he will be hosting from Stratford-upon-Avon on April 23rd.
