BROADCHURCH: David Tennant & Olivia Colman On Set In Bristol Today

Filming on the third and final series of Broadchurch is currently underway and the show's lead actors David Tennant and Olivia Colman - who star as Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller - have been spotted on location in Bristol today.

Series three of Broadchurch will see a brand new storyline as Hardy and Miller are reunited to investigate a serious sexual assault. The programme makers spent a year researching with Dorset-based organisations who specialise in dealing with victims of sexual assault, and police advisors who specialise in investigating crimes of sexual violence. Chris Chibnall has received advice from two of Dorset's specialist sexual assault advice and support agencies throughout the writing process. Broadchurch’s final chapter looks at the emotional cost to all of those involved and the irreparable damage to friendships and relationships.

Broadchurch writer and creator Chris Chibnall, said, ""This is the final chapter of Broadchurch. We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters. I hope it's a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me."

There will be many new faces joining the regular cast with Sir Lenny Henry, Roy Hudd, Sarah Parish and Julie Hesmondhalgh amongst the new line up.

The drama is expected to air in the UK on ITV in early 2017.
