How many text kisses is the right number? Should we send them at all? David Tennant agonises over one of the most taxing areas of modern social etiquette in a preview clip from tonight's episode of Very British Problems, airing on Channel 4 in the UK from 10pm.

Britain is officially not very friendly, ranking way down as the 55th friendliest country in the world.

While Americans have up to seven close friends, and the French have four, Brits can count their innermost circle on the fingers of... two fingers. David Tennant puts this down to our inability to show emotions. One thing we hate is mixing friends. Weddings are also a minefield of social awkwardness. Stephen Mangan always feared being killed by the father of his girlfriends while Bob Mortimer avoided all personal chat by remarking on the quality of the carpet. Texting friends suits Brits very well, as it's a way of communicating at a distance. But there are texting sins that our celebrities will not tolerate, from exclamation marks to LOL.
