AWARDS: David Tennant Nominated For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Voice Role - Vote Now!

It won't come as surprise to many who watched the most recent season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to learn that David Tennant has been nominated for a BTVA Voice Acting Award for his performance as The Fugitoid. David joined the series at the very end of season 3 with his vibrant take on the fan-favourite cyborg who becomes the Turtles' rescuer and mentor, and he subsequently played the role in a 14-episode story arc during Season 4.

David has been nominated in the 5th Behind The Voice Actors Awards in the category Best Male Vocal Performance in a Television Series in a Supporting Role. He's up against Harry Shearer (Charles Montgomery Burns, The Simpsons), James Arnold Taylor (Yondu, Guardians Of The Galaxy), JK Simmons (Ford Pines, Gravity Falls) and Liam O'Brien (Underbite, Transformers: Robots In Disguise). There's clearly some tough competition; however, who wins is in your hands!

The Fugitoid is a cyborg housing the brain of the renegade scientist Professor Zayton Honeycutt, whose body was destroyed by the Triceratons. He joins forces with the half-shell heroes to  track down and destroy the doomsday weapon, the Heart of Darkness. However, there is a twist in the Fugitoid's tale and the cyborg has his own, unexpected reason for forming the alliance...

At the Season 4 launch, David's co star Rob Paulsen (Donatello) spoke of their excitement about the 'Turtles fanatic'  joining the show, and also commented on how he'd thrown himself into the role. "He's a terrific actor," Paulsen said. "And when we found that he jumped in with all sorts of excitement, that he was really thrilled to be part of the Turtles, it was just thrilling." In 2013, David received a Daytime Emmy for voicing another robot, winning for his guest performance as Huyang in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

David's addition to the cast was announced a year ago at San Diego Comic Con with a short video introduction to The Fugitoid:
