David Tennant To Receive Honorary Degree From The Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland Today

David Tennant is to be awarded with an honorary degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He will be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Drama in a graduation ceremony today.
You can watch the graduation online on the RCS's website here.

David studied drama at the Conservatoire from 1988 to 1991, when it was known as the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama.
World renowned choreographer Sir Matthew Bourne and the internationally-distinguished cellist, Ralph Kirshbaum will also receive honours at the ceremony.

Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, Principal of the RCS, said:
“I am delighted that RCS is to confer Honorary Degrees on these truly world-class and inspirational individuals. They represent the highest levels of artistry in their chosen disciplines and help promote international reach of the performing arts. It is fitting that such respected artists join the RCS family in the year that we are named in the world’s top ten for performing arts education.

"We want to celebrate the exceptional achievements of David, Sir Matthew and Ralph and the profound impact they have on individuals and audiences around the world. Graduation is special time for celebration and a great moment for us to congratulate those students who have completed their journey with us. Having stellar Honorary Doctors such as the ones we are announcing today, provides a wonderful opportunity for our students and graduands to engage with and be inspired by these cultural leaders as they prepare to enter into the professional world”.
