The stars of Mad To Be Normal talk about the making of the movie in a new video featurette, now online. David Tennant, who plays  R.D. Laing in the new feature based on the controversial psychiatrist's life, and his co-stars Elisabeth Moss and Gabriel Byrne, discuss the process of developing their characters and bringing the larger than life personality of Laing to the screen.

The feature also includes previously unreleased clips from the film.

Mad To Be Normal, starring David Tennant, Elisabeth Moss, Gabriel Byrne and Michael Gambon is based on the life of R.D. Laing, the celebrated Scottish psychiatrist who changed the way that people experiencing mental illness are treated. The partly fictionalised story follows the period in the 1960s in which Laing established Kingsley Hall, a medication-free treatment facility where patients and paractitioners lived alongside one another as equals At the time the project was condemned by other mental health professionals as dangerous and irresponsible, but in the longterm Laings work paved the way for many of the talking therapies available t patients today.

Mad To Be Normal is written and directed by Bob Mullan. It premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival on February 26th and will go on national release in selected cinemas from April 6th.
