David Tennant has continued to show his support for Scottish charity Circle by providing the foreword to a new book created by some of the children and parents supported by the organisation. David has been one of the patrons of the charity for many years.
Over the course of week during summer 2017, local families took part in a Storytelling Week at Circle's Haven Project in Edinburgh, supported by children's author Mike Nicholson and local artist Angela Austin. During this week they created a book, A Donkey Called Horse, which will be launched at a special event in Edinburgh on 1st December.
Circle is a Scottish charity working at the heart of
deprived communities across central Scotland. Circle's projects across the region
provide a valuable resource for vulnerable families, including those affected
by parental substance misuse and parental imprisonment. Their aim is to support
the most disadvantaged and difficult-to-engage children and families, to
improve their lives and promote their healthy development and potential.
David says in his foreword:
"As a father myself I recognise and value children's books and storytelling as a powerful way of connecting with, and sharing time with your children. The fantastic work Circle does is all about strengthening and protecting families. This book - and the way it was created - celebrates that, and maybe it can inspire you and your children to make some brand new memories of your own."
