PROJECT UPDATE: Fuddy Meers With David Tennant And Krysten Ritter

You will remember back in May that it was announced that David Tennant would be teaming up with his Jessica Jones co star Krysten Ritter on a new movie adaptation of the stage play Fuddy Meers. Since then things went a bit quiet on details of production but Krysten has spoken briefly about the project in a chat with The Metro which was to promote her new novel, Bonfire.

Asked if she'd like to work with David again, the multi talented star replied:
" I’m trying to raise the money to do a film adaptation of a stage play with him. I love him. He’s a good egg and so talented. He’s a dream to work with. He’ll do a scene differently every take because he’s so well prepared — I learned a lot."

Fuddy Meers tells the story of an amnesiac woman called Claire (Krysten Ritter) who is kidnapped by a lisping, limping man, played by David Tennant.

Claire awakes each morning as a blank slate upon which her husband and teenage son must imprint the facts of her life. One day, "the Limping Man" appears and informs her that he is there to rescue her from her husband who is tying to kill her, and abducts her. Fuddy Meers also stars Ellen Burstyn as Claire's mother Gertie, who experiences aphasia following a stroke - the production's title comes from her attempts to say 'funny mirrors'.

The film will be directed by David Petrarca, the director of two episodes of Jessica Jones, who also directed Fuddy Meers on its original off-Broadway premiere in 1999.

David and Krysten will be on screen together again for season 2 of Marvel's Jessica Jones which will premiere on Netflix in 2018.
