Filming Wraps On BBC & Amazon Prime Series Good Omens

Principal photography has wrapped today on the six-part series Good Omens which will star David Tennant and Michael Sheen as a demon and an angel. The series was adapted by Neil Gaiman from the beloved comedy fantasy novel of the same name that he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett and is due to premiere early next year on Amazon Prime.

The shoot began back in September 2017 with the production moving to various locations around London and Oxfordshire. Since the start of this year it has continued in South Africa, and it was from Salt River Studios in Cape Town today that director Douglas Mackinnon tweeted the call sheet for Day 109, the final day, upon which he and Neil Gaiman, who also served as showrunner, had paid tribute to their cast and crew:
About five hours later came the final slate:
Also tweeting about the final day was Lourdes Faberes, who plays Pollution:
The show will now undergo extensive post-production ahead of its premiere next year.

Good Omens is set on the verge of the Apocalypse. The armies of Heaven and Hell are amassing and the Antichrist has been placed on Earth. However, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and his counterpart Crowley (David Tennant), a fast living demon, who have lived amongst humans on Earth since The Beginning, decide that they are rather enjoying their comfortable lives filled with antique books, vintage cars, sushi and fine wines, and team up to halt the Rapture. Along the way they are helped (and hindered) by Anathema Device (Adria Arjona) a descendant of the only accurate prophecy writer ever, Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell (Michael McKean) and his single recruit Newton Pulsifer (Jack Whitehall) and their neighbour, spiritual medium Madame Tracy (Miranda Richardson). Atlantis has risen, the Kraken is stirring, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are riding. However, due to a botched delivery, nobody can actually seem to locate the Antichrist. As the clock ticks down, the forces of good and evil are converging on a small, sleepy village in Oxfordshire and the end of the world seems inevitable...

The series also stars Ned Dennehy (Hastur), Sam Taylor Buck (Adam Young), Nina Sosanya (Sister Mary Loquacious), Daniel Mays (Mr Young), John Hamm (Gabriel), Derek Jacobi (Metatron) and Josie Lawrence (Agnes Nutter). It is co-produced by BBC Studios, Amazon Studios, The Blank Corporation and Narrativia and will premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime early in 2019, with a terrestrial broadcast on BBC Two later in the year. TV deals for other countries are currently being worked out by BBC Worldwide.
