CANADA: David Tennant's Episode Of Hang Ups Premieres Tonight On CBC

The critically acclaimed British comedy series Hang Ups, continues in Canada on CBC tonight at 8.30pm ET/PT and includes a guest appearance from David Tennant.

Written by Robert Delamere and Stephen Mangan, Hang Ups is an unconventional comedy about an
unconventional therapist trying to keep his life, and patients, from falling apart.

David guest stars as Martin Lamb, an eerie cloakroom attendant. Martin seeks Richard’s help when the pressure of leaving the cloak room to act as sommelier for the evening becomes too much for him. Perhaps some of Richard’s role-playing techniques might give him the confidence to step up.

Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing) stars as Richard Pitt, a therapist with a chequered professional career, who finds himself at a crossroads in life – a crossroads precipitated by the startling realisation that his life appears to be falling apart at the seams….

Hang Ups presents a family and a society that have the opportunity to be more connected than ever before, but who in reality find themselves utterly disconnected. Time poor and technology rich, self-obsessed and neurotic, image-conscious but insecure, the world is full of hang ups and is it any wonder why…?

In tonight's episode Karen (Katherine Parkinson)is away on business and so Richard is left holding the fort. Family pressures result in Richard enlisting the support of his squabbling siblings Jon (Conleth Hill) and Katherine (Jessica Hynes).
New clients Martin (David Tennant) and Jane (Daisy Haggard) offer some welcome distraction as Neil (Steve Oram) returns, but this time it is for a gratis therapy session to try and alleviate some of the debt Richard owes him.
With people coming at him from all sides with their issues at least he has his own therapist to unload on. But will Leonard (Richard E Grant) come to his rescue?
